Come out for a great day of hiking with Powerhouse Project at the Niagara Glen Nature Reserve! Friday June 28th is the first day of Summer Break and what a better way to spend it than out enjoying the beauty and freshness of nature here in the Niagara region. The event runs from 10:00am – 2:00pm and we will be meeting at the Niagara Glen Nature Reserve on the Niagara Parkway at the Totem Pole Park & Pavilion. Please bring your own snack/lunch and proper footwear is required, NO SANDLES! Just a reminder that due to poor weather, the location of our Family Event on Friday April 12th  from 5pm-7pm has been changed to Pinehurst School, located at 10 Seymour Ave in St.Catharines. Please enter the gym from the main parking lot. We are excited to be joined by our local MPP Jim Bradley, sport celebrity guest Geoff McArthur, and Bones from the Niagara Ice Dogs!

On Friday March 12th from 5:00-8:00pm bring the whole family out to Port Dalhousie in St.Catharines for an evening of fun and games including a picnic dinner! This event is weather dependant however with enough fingers crossed the April showers will take a short break to allow us to enjoy the start of spring with our extended PHP family. Please call to register and let us know what family members will be attending, all are welcome!

Powerhouse Project is introducing a brand new program called Making Music Magic created by Jorbon who in is his life before working for PHP was a music teacher for many years at the Ontario Conservatory of Music! This 8 week program is designed for all musical abilities from those who have zero experience all the way to child prodigies who write full symphonies.  We will be creating our own instruments, learning common musical concepts, playing games that influence the love of music and much more. MMM is for members ages 8-12 and starts on Thursday March 28th from 6:00-8:00pm at the St.Catharines PHP office, be sure to call and register your spot because as always spots are limited!

Join us for a delicious dinner at Boston Pizza in Welland on Thursday March 21st from 5:30-7:30pm. Even if you do not live in Welland but feel like making the trek to join us for dinner we encourage you to come, this would be a great chance to meet other young carers from around the region and share some of your experiences while enjoying a tasty meal. Like everything we do at Powerhouse Project this event is FREE of charge, all you need to do is call to register your spot and show up hungry!

Join us for a wonderful & wild week of March Break Camp held in St.Catharines at the Powerhouse Project head office from 9:00am – 3:00pm each day. During the week we will be taking part in games, team building activities, Yoga, arts, crafts, Zumba, cooking, baking, bowling, a pizza & movie party, and much more! On Thursday our Haldimand PHP family will be coming to join us for the day as a chance to reunite and meet with other young carers from our neighbouring region. Spaces for camp are very limited and fill up fast so be sure to sign up ASAP to guarantee your spot or to get on the waiting list in case of cancellations. Don’t forget that CNO will not be taking place during this week but will start right back up once school is back in after March Break :D

Our youth advisory group C.A.T.A.T. (Caring Adolescents Taking Action Today) will be meeting on Tuesday February 26th from 4:00 – 6:00pm! Newcomers are always welcome and you do not even have to be a member or a young carer to participate, also an excellent way to gain high school volunteer hours. After a stressful and busy week of exams we are treating our high school students to an awesome afternoon at Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls. Join us on Friday February 1st from 1:00 – 5:00pm to check out some of the coolest attractions that Clifton Hill has to offer! CNO is starting back up again after the holiday break the week of January 7th… This is one of our regular weekly programs where our members get together from 6:00-8:00pm to participate in recreation, crafts and other activities designed to build resiliency and build skills that will help them throughout their lives as a young carer and beyond into their adulthood.
